Membership Terms
Last updated: October 10, 2026
Welcome to the Canada Hypnosis Guild
The Canada Hypnosis Guild (CHG) is a professional community dedicated to connecting hypnosis professionals, supporting continuing education and encouraging the responsible advancement of hypnosis.
We welcome members who share our commitment to professionalism, integrity, collaboration and lifelong learning.
These Membership Terms and Conditions outline the rights, responsibilities and expectations associated with CHG membership.
By applying for, purchasing or renewing membership, you agree to these Terms and Conditions and the Canada Hypnosis Guild Code of Ethics and Professional Conduct.
1. Membership Eligibility
Membership is available to individuals who meet the eligibility requirements established by the Canada Hypnosis Guild.
Applicants are expected to provide accurate information about their professional background, training, qualifications and experience, where applicable.
CHG reserves the right to review applications, request supporting documentation and decline membership when an applicant does not meet the Guild's eligibility requirements or professional standards.
Membership decisions will be made reasonably and consistently with applicable law.
2. Membership and Directory Add-ons
The Canada Hypnosis Guild offers one annual membership level that provides access to member benefits, professional networking opportunities and community resources.
Members may enhance their membership by purchasing optional annual professional directory listings.
Available directory add-ons include:
Practitioner Directory: For eligible hypnosis practitioners and hypnotherapists.
Trainer Directory: For eligible hypnosis trainers and educators.
Stage Hypnotist Directory: For eligible stage hypnotists and entertainment hypnosis professionals.
Members may select one, two or all three directory add-ons, depending on their professional activities and qualifications.
Directory add-ons are available exclusively to active CHG members and are subject to applicable eligibility requirements.
Current membership fees and directory add-on pricing are displayed on the CHG website and during registration. All recurring charges, including selected add-ons, will be clearly disclosed before purchase.
Members may request changes to their directory selections through their membership account or by contacting CHG. Any applicable charges will be disclosed before changes are completed.
3. Membership Duration and Automatic Renewal
Membership is valid for one year from the date of activation, unless otherwise specified at registration.
CHG memberships renew automatically each year unless the member cancels automatic renewal before the next renewal date.
Before completing a membership purchase, members will be clearly informed of the recurring annual charge, renewal frequency and cancellation process. Automatic renewal requires the member's express authorization at checkout.
By authorizing automatic renewal, members agree that the applicable annual membership fee, including selected directory add-ons, may be charged to their selected payment method on each renewal date until automatic renewal is cancelled.
Members may cancel future automatic renewals through their membership account or by contacting CHG at hello@canadahypnosisguild.com.
Cancellation of automatic renewal prevents future renewal charges but does not terminate access during the current paid membership period, provided the membership remains in good standing.
CHG may send renewal reminders and notifications regarding upcoming charges or membership expiration.
Any changes to renewal pricing will be communicated in advance, with any additional notice or consent required by applicable law.
4. Membership Fees and Payments
Membership fees are displayed on the CHG website at the time of registration or renewal.
All applicable charges, including taxes where required, will be disclosed during checkout.
Payments are processed through approved third-party payment providers.
Members are responsible for maintaining valid payment information and ensuring that membership fees are paid when due.
The Guild may adjust membership pricing for future membership periods. Changes affecting an automatic renewal will be communicated as required by applicable law.
5. Cancellations and Refunds
Membership and directory add-on fees are non-refundable once membership or the applicable add-on has been activated, except where a refund is required by applicable law.
Members may cancel automatic renewal at any time before their next scheduled renewal charge.
Cancellation of automatic renewal does not entitle a member to a prorated refund for the unused portion of an annual membership or directory add-on.
Members who cancel automatic renewal may continue accessing their paid membership benefits and directory listings until the end of their current paid membership period, provided their membership remains in good standing.
Refund requests involving billing errors or circumstances where a refund is legally required will be reviewed and addressed appropriately.
6. Membership Benefits
Members may receive access to:
Professional networking opportunities.
Member community activities.
Professional development events.
Educational resources and training opportunities.
Member communications and community initiatives.
Optional professional directory listings with applicable add-ons.
Additional benefits introduced by the Guild.
Membership benefits may evolve as the organization grows.
CHG may modify, introduce or discontinue individual benefits from time to time. Where a material change affects a paid membership, the Guild will provide appropriate notice and address any rights or remedies required by law.
Membership does not guarantee client referrals, business opportunities, income or specific professional outcomes.
7. Professional Directory Listings
Members with an active membership and the corresponding paid directory add-on may create and maintain a professional listing in the applicable CHG directory, subject to eligibility requirements.
Members are responsible for ensuring their directory information is accurate, current and appropriate for public display.
The Guild reserves the right to request corrections or remove content that is inaccurate, misleading, inappropriate or inconsistent with its professional standards.
Directory listings remain available only while the member's basic membership and applicable directory add-on are active and in good standing.
If membership or a directory add-on expires or is terminated, the associated directory listing may be unpublished or made inactive.
Members may request updates or removal of their directory listings at any time.
Directory inclusion does not constitute certification, licensure, accreditation or endorsement by CHG.
8. Professional Standards and Code of Ethics
All members agree to uphold the Canada Hypnosis Guild Code of Ethics and Professional Conduct.
Members are expected to maintain appropriate professional standards, practise within their scope of competence and comply with applicable laws and regulations.
Members remain individually responsible for their professional activities, services, representations and relationships with clients or students.
CHG membership does not grant permission to practise a regulated profession or provide services outside a member's lawful scope of practice.
9. Professional Credentials and Representations
Members agree to represent their education, training, certifications, professional designations and experience accurately.
Members must not represent CHG membership as equivalent to professional licensure, certification or regulatory approval.
Members may identify themselves as members of the Canada Hypnosis Guild while their membership remains active.
Use of CHG branding, logos or membership designations must follow any applicable Guild branding guidelines.
10. Community Participation
The Canada Hypnosis Guild strives to maintain a welcoming, supportive and respectful professional community.
Members participating in Guild events, online discussions, networking activities and educational opportunities are expected to communicate respectfully and contribute constructively.
CHG may establish additional participation guidelines for specific events, groups or services.
The Guild may moderate discussions or restrict participation when necessary to maintain a safe and professional environment.
11. Membership Review, Suspension and Termination
The Canada Hypnosis Guild is committed to maintaining the integrity of its professional community.
CHG may review concerns relating to membership eligibility, inaccurate professional representations, non-payment or conduct inconsistent with its Code of Ethics.
Depending on the circumstances, the Guild may request clarification, seek corrective action, suspend membership privileges or terminate membership.
Where reasonably appropriate, members will be given an opportunity to respond to concerns before a final decision is made.
Immediate suspension may be appropriate when necessary to address significant safety, legal or reputational concerns.
Termination of membership may result in removal from Guild directories and loss of access to member benefits.
Any refund or other remedy following termination will be determined in accordance with applicable law and the circumstances involved.
12. Membership Expiration and Grace Period
If a membership renewal payment is unsuccessful or a membership otherwise reaches its expiration date without renewal, CHG will provide a grace period of seven (7) calendar days.
During this period, members may update their payment information or complete their renewal.
If membership remains unpaid after the seven-day grace period, membership benefits may be suspended and directory listings will be unpublished.
Directory listings may be republished once membership and the applicable directory add-ons are renewed.
The grace period does not extend the paid membership term or guarantee uninterrupted directory visibility.
13. Independent Professional Status
CHG members are independent professionals and are not employees, agents, partners or representatives of the Canada Hypnosis Guild solely by virtue of their membership.
Each member is responsible for their own professional services, business practices, qualifications, insurance where applicable and compliance with relevant laws and regulations.
CHG is not responsible for professional services independently provided by its members.
14. Privacy and Personal Information
The Canada Hypnosis Guild collects and manages personal information in accordance with its Privacy Policy.
Members understand that information submitted for public directory listings may be visible to website visitors and search engines.
Members may update their information or request changes to their directory listings using available account features or by contacting CHG.
15. Changes to Membership Terms
The Canada Hypnosis Guild may update these Membership Terms and Conditions to reflect changes in membership services, organizational policies or applicable requirements.
Updated terms will be made available on the CHG website.
Where changes materially affect existing memberships, CHG will provide appropriate notice and obtain any consent required by applicable law.
